Too Sad

So usually Mother's Day is a great day to celebrate, a day where the "mama's" can get a little recognition for their hard work throughout the year. This year was not so great. We got a phone call from our employee, Matt, that his wife, Farrah, had to be taken to the ER. Wasn't sure why exactly, but she had "kinda wacked out"...later to find out they are at Rochester. She was diagnoised with a brain tumor, and it came back cancerous. She was pretty much "comatosed" and was not able to function. They did surgery to drain the fluid from her brain. They also did an MRI to see the brain, and where going to do a biopsy to see what type of cancer they were dealing with.
Well, it seems to be one bad news report after another. Here we are only 3 days later and the good news is that Farrah is "back". The stint in her brain to keep the fluids draining is working and the pressure is off of her brain which has allowed her to function completely, talk, comb her hair, brush her teeth, pick on her husband...the bad news is that they found 3 tumors, and they are all at her brainstem. This location prevents removal, and even chemotherapy to try to shrink them is not an option as it would swell her brain and put her back to square 1 again. Today we learned the sad sad news that Farrah will only get to "ride it out" and the timeline was as vague as saying, "not sure if it is a few weeks or a few months." Jason and I are completely heartbroken. Matt and Farrah are such wonderful people. They both served in the military (her Army, him Marines), they fell in love, got married, and are the proud parents of 3 children. Tessa, who just is finishing Kindergarten, Tori who is 3, and Colt who will be 1 in June.
As a mother, I cannot begin to tell you the agony my heart and head are filled with when I think about all the things Farrah will miss out on. It's not fair. What possibly can I do for them? How helpless I feel. She is one of the nicest people I've met. Never negative, never rude. All I know is that she is one tough cookie and I hope she is with us a long, long time!
My days have been consumed by Prayers for her, and requesting Prayers from others for her.
